I use natural horsemanship methods and reining foundation training for both colt starting and working with problem horses. My most important goal is to preserve a horse's try and to create a willing partner. Whether you bring a colt, a green horse, or a problem horse, my training price includes unlimited lessons while your horse is in training. I guarantee my work.
For colt starting, I recommend 90 days of training. In a typical colt starting, your horse will be able to walk, trot, and lope comfortably. He/she will have a stop, be started on rollbacks, turnarounds, and collection. Your horse will have a soft feel in a snaffle or bosal and be able to move off of leg. Your horse will have ground manners, trailer, open gates, and will travel with me to work off the ranch.
I offer lessons for clients who want to learn horsemanship, refined riding, cow work/ranch work, or who just want to learn to train their own horses. I have lesson horses available.I offer consultation on purchasing new horses or for marketing your horse for sale.
